State Department has issued a travel alert for U.S. citizens planning to attend the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.

“U.S. citizens planning to attend the Games in Sochi should remain alert regarding their personal security at all times,” the message says.

Although State Department admits there is no indication of a specific threat to U.S. institutions or citizens, “U.S. citizens should be aware of their personal surroundings and follow good security practices.”

Earlier it was reported that FBI will send several dozens of agents to Russia to help ensure security at the Olympics.
