Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian FM Sergey Lavrov exchanged presents during the Geneva talks on Monday.

John Kerry gave a pair of Idaho potatoes as a gift for Lavrov that eased tension and made both delegations laugh.

Russian diplomats responded by giving the official State Department representative Jen Psaki a pink ear-flap hat (ushanka), Vesti reported.

“Thanks to Maria, my Russian counterpart, for preparing me for upcoming Winter Olympics,” Psaki tweeted.
