YEREVAN. – Armenian political analyst Alexander Iskandaryan believes former president Robert Kocharyan bears no relation to Prosperous Armenia party.

Kocharyan only “had a hand in creation of the party” but it was long time ago, the analyst told reporters on Tuesday.

“Robert Kocharyan is not participating in political processes, he has no power in the formed political group. Kocharyan, according to media, has some financial capabilities and the name. When a man having name says something, this naturally provokes interest,” said Iskandaryan, head of Caucasus Institute. 

Nevertheless, the analyst did not rule out the possibility that Kocharyan may come back to politics closer to next presidential elections.
