Former Georgian Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili will “sit for a long time,” stated current PM Irakli Garibashvili.

“That man used the [state] budget funds to finance his political party, and he will answer for it.

“Merabishvili is attempting to draw attention to himself, [and] he is making unfounded statements whereby, in my view, he is trying to put pressure on former President Mikheil Saakashvili and remind him about its existence,” the PM said, in particular.

He noted that all the rumors about the “political motives” of Merabishvili’s arrest are concocted.

As per Garibashvili, all the cases that are brought against the senior officials of the former Georgian government will be concluded.
