YEREVAN. – Iran in fact is the sole center of regional stability, expert on Iranian studies Vardan Voskanyan told reporters.

The expert noted that the Islamic Republic has strengthened positions in eastern and western directions. In particular, the Iranian influence is obvious in Iraq, and in Lebanon through Hezbollah.

“Iran in fact is one of the main actors on Syria,” Voskanyan said during a media conference.

“During the Iraqi war, there was a joke that the U.S. is fighting, while Iran is winning. In the context of recent developments, we can assert that as a result of U.S. wars, Iran came out as a winner and a state with tremendous foreign influence.”
