YEREVAN. – Azerbaijan resorts to an intolerable act ahead of the planned meeting between the Armenian and the Azerbaijani FMs and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group co-chairs.  

This act deals another blow to the Nagorno-Karabakh peace talks, stated Armenian National Assembly Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov.

Sharmazanov commented on the Azerbaijan military diversion teams’ attempts to infiltrate into Karabakh, in the early morning hours on Monday, and which resulted in the death of Junior Sergeant Armen Hovhannisyan.       

“Such attempts are a result of the anti-Armenian policy by the Azerbaijani leadership, and the mediating countries need to realize that, in this way, Azerbaijan threatens to undermine the pacific resolution of the [Karabakh] conflict.   

“I am sure that any ‘adventurous’ attempt by the adversary will be prevented and it will receive a harsh response,” Eduard Sharmazanov noted.
