YEREVAN. – The old building of Armenia’s Zvartnots International Airport of capital city Yerevan can be preserved as an architectural park.

Government-Affiliated General Department of Civil Aviation Head Artyom Movsisyan stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Tuesday.

Movsisyan recalled the government had already reached a decision concerning the old building and, as a result, its demolition was stopped.

“The matter is still discussed. If the state decides that the building has a cultural value, they will preserve it, but not for aircraft service.

“It can be adapted for other purposes. For example, turning it into an architectural park, a sightseeing location by mounting the models of Armenia’s famous churches and buildings,” Artyom Movsisyan added.

To note, PM Tigran Sargsyan likewise had informed about this idea.
