YEREVAN. – Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Tuesday discussed Armenia-EU relations with Philippe Lefort, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia.

Minister Nalbandian expressed gratitude to Philippe Lefort who arrived in Armenia on a farewell visit. Minister thanked his for the work aimed at promoting relations and wished success in his future endeavors.

The sides discussed Armenia-EU relations and touched upon regional challenges and conflicts as well as settlement efforts.

Armenian Minister drew Lefort’s attention to the military rhetoric and provocations of Baku. He noted that despite numerous calls of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to strengthen ceasefire regime, not only soldiers become the victims of Azerbaijan’s ceasefire violations on the border with Armenia and line of contact with Karabakh. Nalbandian stressed that provocations hamper efforts of the mediators and Armenia aimed at finding peaceful solution to the conflict.
