YEREVAN. – The case into Davit Vardanyan, the son of Armenia’s Sport and Youth Affairs Minister Yuri Vardanyan, has been sent to court.

Davit Vardanyan’s attorney, Vahan Hayrapetyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am

Charges have been brought against Davit Vardanyan for the fact that, from October 4 to 12, 2013, he had acquired 106 grams of hashish in Iran, he had wrapped 7 grams into rubber thimbles and swallowed, hid the remaining 99 grams in his handbag, and smuggled it into Armenia on October 12.      

The first court hearing is scheduled for February 1.

Davit Vardanyan had informed that he had acquired the drug for use. Vardanyan was arrested. A criminal case was opened against him, on charges of illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and smuggling.
