French President François Hollande, who was in Turkey on an official visit, met with the widow and the brother of Hrant Dink, the founder and former chief editor of Agos Armenian weekly of Istanbul, who was killed on January 19, 2007 in front of the weekly’s office.  

As it was planned, Hollande met in Istanbul with Hrant Dink’s wife, Rakel Dink, and brother, Orhan Dink, Radikal daily of Turkey reports. 

The talk was held without media presence.

After the talk, Orhan [Khosrov] Dink made a brief statement to reporters stressing that the meeting was personal and not of interest for the public.    

When a journalist asked whether they had talked about the Armenian Genocide issue, Orhan Dink gave a negative answer.   

Rakel Dink, on the other hand, reassured the reporters and said: “We did not talk about anything that you do not know.”
