YEREVAN. – The Armenian delegation, led by Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan, which is in Georgian capital city Tbilisi on an official visit, met with Tamar Sanikidze, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia. 

Sanikidze expressed the hope that the talks will be productive and full of prospect, informs the Armenian Education and Science Ministry press service.

Mr. Shervashidze, Georgian Deputy Minister of Education and Science,  stressed that Armenia has achieved major progress within the framework of the Bologna Process, and the vivid proof of this was Armenia’s assumption of the Bologna Process Secretariat.

In turn, Ashotyan expressed willingness to provide information to Georgia on the knowhow that Armenia has amassed along the lines of the Bologna Process. 

The parties discussed the avenues for implementing bilateral educational programs and participating in joint international projects. 

The Armenian education and science minister raised several matters with respect to ensuring the Georgian Armenians’ right to education in Armenian.  

For her part, Minister Sanikidze assured that the Armenian schools in Georgia are free to teach Armenian language and history in their extra classes.    

At the end of talk, Armen Ashotyan invited his Georgian colleague to Armenia on a return visit.
