Within the framework of their ongoing visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Armenian National Assembly (NA) Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II on Friday toured the Surb Nahatakats (Holy Martyrs) Armenian Church, which is under construction in Abu Dhabi, capital city of the UAE. 

On the same day, Abrahamyan and Karekin II also paid a visit to the Embassy of Armenia in the UAE, and met with representatives from the local Armenian community. 

In his address at the event, the NA leader highly appreciated the Catholicos’ contribution to the strengthening of the Armenian state-church ties, and the role of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the deepening of Armenia-Diaspora relations. 

Hovik Abrahamyan also underscored the activities by the Embassy of Armenia in the UAE, and gave a high assessment to Ambassador Gegham Gharibjanyan’s efforts to develop and deepen Armenia-UAE ties.
