YEREVAN. – Deputy from Orinats Yerkir party Hovhannes Margaryan is confident that Russia will give preferences to the Armenian citizens after amendments to law on migrants were made.

Over 95% of Armenian migrants working in Russia have no contracts since the employees refuse to sign a  contract.

“Taking into account strengthening relations with Russia that will lead to signing a document on joining Customs Union, we must facilitate relaxation of migration regime,” Margaryan said during a press conference on Monday.

Hovhannes Margaryan said his party suggests forming a working group that will prepare Armenia-Russia treaty on migration issues. The MP is confident that by creating a working group it will be possible to get certain preferences before the document on Armenia’s accession to Customs Union comes into effect.

According to the recent amendments, the citizens of countries having visa free regime with Russia, can stay in the territory of the Russian Federation during 90 days within 180 days.
