YEREVAN. – Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Iranian Ambassador to Armenia, Mohammad Reisi.

First, the PM congratulated the diplomat and the Iranian people on the 35th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, and wished successes, informs the Armenian Government press service.

“These meetings serve to expand the friendship of our two peoples, and we are committed to consistently implement joint economic cooperation projects,” Sargsyan also stated. 

For his part, Ambassador Reisi noted that the development of relations with Armenia is a priority of Iran’s foreign policy, and that his country stands ready to expand cooperation. 

Subsequently, the interlocutors discussed the Armenian-Iranian trade and economic ties.

The Armenian PM and the Iranian ambassador also noted that the next session of the Armenia-Iran Intergovernmental Joint Committee is slated for this year in Tehran.  

Furthermore, they underscored the high-level mutual official visits in terms of giving new impetus to cooperation. 

In addition, Ambassador Mohammad Reisi conveyed to PM Tigran Sargsyan the warm greetings by Eshaq Jahangiri, First Vice President of Iran, and his invitation for Sargsyan to visit Iran.
