YEREVAN. – Political situation in Ukraine has a negative affect on the development of tourism, head of Ukrainian travel agents’ association said. 

Alexander Novikovskiy said the tourists prefer to wait till the situation calms down. Novikovskiy joined the participants of “CIS 2014 a year of tourism” space bridge that brought together tourism specialists from Moscow, Kiev Astana, Chisinau and Yerevan. 

“We hope this will happen as soon as possible, and the government and the opposition will find peaceful solution,” he said. 

Novikovskiy noted that the Ukrainian government had approved the Concept for tourism development till 2022.  He said Ukraine has made a significant step forward in terms of tourism development.

The Ukrainian expert stressed that the problems of tourism are similar in all CIS states, among them security, increase of infrastructure and jobs.
