YEREVAN. – Armenia can become a “door” leading to the Customs Union (CU) market for foreign investors.

Armenian Development Agency (ADA) Director Robert Harutyunyan told the abovementioned at a press conference on Friday.

As per Harutyunyan, the Swiss AZAD Pharmaceutical Ingredients company plus Indian companies are interested in starting businesses in Armenia.

“The foreign companies may use Armenia’s opportunities to enter the CU market, which amounts to 170 million people,” the ADA chief said.

In turn, Vigen Topuzyan, Director of the Institute of Fine Organic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, noted that the domestically manufactured medical drugs will raise the product independence of Armenia.

“The more medical drugs are produced in the country, we will be concerned by possible disruptions in transport communication that much less,” Topuzyan noted.
