YEREVAN. – It is early to speak about split in Ukraine, but in fact the western provinces are under the domination of certain forces, Ukrainian analyst Sergey Tolstov told Armenian-News-NEWS.am.

He said at the moment the situation is not controlled by anyone. Tolstov believes probably some talks will be initiated in order to publicly offer any possible solution to the existing crisis.

“The situation cannot be solved politically, as the parties have opposite positions. And those members of the protest movement that conduct combat operations against police, it is unclear who controls them, most likely they have a single headquarters, but who are these people is yet unclear. They are not represented politically,” Tolstov said.

The truce declared yesterday was violated, and it is unclear how long it may last.

“Today the situation in Ukraine develops in such a way that either the authorities will suppress the movement or the protest will continue,” analyst added.

Referring to the possible split of Ukraine, Sergey Tolstoy said that it will depend on who controls the power in Kyiv.

“If a decision on transitional government is made, only then the attitude of different territories will be clear,” he resumed.
