YEREVAN. – The Head of the EU Delegation, Ambassador Traian Hristea, will hand over the certificates to the participants of the first ever Training Course of the EU in Armenia Club on Wednesday at the EU Centre.

The first EU in Armenia Club Training Course was held in Aghveran city, from February 21 to 23.

The EU in Armenia Club has been established to encourage the development of influential and knowledgeable alumni. The club's activities will include engaging training and useful networking events for senior officials and distinguished representatives of the Armenian society. The aim of the training courses is to spread reliable information about EU-Armenia relations and cooperation.

The participants were senior officials from the Armenian government, Members of Parliament, leading journalists, representatives of civil society organizations, academic, business and religious circles, youth organizations, and students.

The ceremony of certificates will be followed by the 8th informal meeting for journalists. Ambassador Hristea will outline the trends and initiatives for the year 2014 in the EU-Armenia cooperation, and introduce the EU-Armenia visa facilitation and readmission agreements.

The format of the meeting is informal and off-the-record, to encourage open discussion as an opportunity to learn more about the background.
