YEREVAN. – Former residents of today’s Northern Avenue of Armenian capital city Yerevan held another demonstration Thursday near the Government building, and they chanted slogans.

They demand an equivalent compensation for their houses that were demolished years ago, in order to have today’s Northern Avenue built.

For twelve years, the residents are unsuccessfully fighting to restore their violated rights. Many of them do not have homes to this day, since they have not been able to purchase homes because of the disproportionate amount of money that was allocated to them as compensation, and in installments.

In the words of the residents, they were forcibly removed from their homes, and no one has yet been called to account for this unlawfulness.

But the former residents of today’s Northern Avenue did not meet with any official, and again left in disappointment.
