YEREVAN. – The official opening of the art exhibition entitled “Spring Melody” was held in Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, and Mayor Taron Margaryan also was in attendance.

The creations by women painters are exhibited along the lines of this event, which is organized ahead of International Women’s Day, which is marked every year on March 8, informs the Yerevan Municipality press service.

Around 200 woman painters with 130 creations are taking part in this year’s exhibition.

The mayor, accompanied by Culture Minister Hasmik Poghosyan and National Assembly Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan, toured the exhibition, and spoke with the painters.

Margaryan noted that the holding of such an exhibition in the lead-up to International Women’s Day is a unique form of appreciation for women artists.

The “Spring Melody” art exhibition will be open for one week.
