YEREVAN. – Serbia is interested in deepening ties with Armenia, Serbian FM Ivan Mrkic said during his meeting with Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
Premier Sargsyan noted that centuries-long friendship between Armenian and Serbian nations is based on historical background, adding that Armenia wants to strengthen the contacts. Sargsyan pointed out deepening of economic cooperation, underscoring importance of Armenia-Serbia business forum scheduled for March 11 in Yerevan.
Minister Mrkic assured his country's readiness to continue intensification of economic contacts and informed about double tax avoidance agreement signed with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian.
The sides exchanged views on the ways to develop cooperation in different areas. PM Sargsyan informed about open skies policy adopted by Armenia that will enable to establish direct communication between Yerevan and Belgrade. Minister Mrkic welcomed the idea, adding that it will promote investments and tourism development.
