YEREVAN. – Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, who arrived in Paris Thursday on a working visit, met with Laurent Fabius, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of France.

The ministers discussed the preparations for French President François Hollande’s visit to be paid to Armenia in May, informs the Armenian MFA press service.    

Recording that the bilateral relations are at a high level, the interlocutors reflected on the opportunities for the further development of economic cooperation between Armenia and France.  

Against the backdrop of the Armenia-European Union (EU) Joint Declaration, which was adopted at the Vilnius Summit of the EU Eastern Partnership, the FMs also spoke about Armenia-EU relations.  

In addition, the ministers conferred on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. Highly appreciating the constructive engagement by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries (France, the US, and Russia), Nalbandian underscored their joint efforts aimed at solely a pacific resolution of the Karabakh conflict. The FM reaffirmed Armenia’s readiness to continue working, together with the Minsk Group co-chairing countries, to achieve a settlement to the matter.         

Edward Nalbandian and Laurent Fabius also discussed regional and international issues.
