YEREVAN.The results of Sunday’s referendum in Crimea are announced, reported ITAR-TASS news agency of Russia citing “Crimea” State Television and Radio Company.

It is reported that, according to official data, the voter turnout was 82.71 percent, and 96.6 percent of those who participated in the referendum expressed support for Crimea’s joining Russia.

Michail Malishev, Chairman of the Crimean Verkhovna Rada (Supreme Council; parliament) Referendum Preparation Commission, announced the aforesaid results. 

The data, however, do not include the referendum results in Sevastopol which has a city-state status and is not formally included in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, which officially is a part of Ukraine.
