YEREVAN. – Armenian government on Wednesday approved the procedure for receiving requests for the return of illegal migrants from the European Union.

The applications will be considered by the state agency on migration that will convey information about the applicants to the Armenian police for verification of personal data.

The citizenship will be certified by passport and visa issuance department. Then, the Armenian side will inform the  authorities of foreign countries about the possibility or impossibility of readmission.

The transit procedure for the third country nationals through the territory of Armenia has been confirmed. Conclusion about the possibility of providing  transit is provided by police and National Security Service. This procedure is based on EU-Armenia agreement on readmission.
