YEREVAN. – I do not think that our approach on the Crimea issue is cautious, Armenia Deputy Foreign Minister Savarsh Kocharyan told reporters on Wednesday.

“I don’t think that our approach is cautious, since the [Armenian] minister of foreign affairs made his statement, [and] the NKR [i.e., the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic] expressed its position. I don’t see cautiousness here,” Kocharyan stated.

A referendum was held on March 16 in Crimea. As a result, 96 percent of the voters cast their ballots in favor of Crimea’s seceding from Ukraine and joining Russia. Subsequently, Russia and Crimea signed a respective agreement. Ukraine, the United States, and the European Union, however, do not recognize the Crimean referendum and the annexation of the territories.
