The Armenian and Russian presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin discussed bilateral cooperation during a phone conversation on Wednesday.

The leaders discussed topical issues of Armenia-Russia cooperation, as well as regional and international issues. They touched upon implementation of the arrangements on Armenia's joining Customs Union, Armenian president’s press service reported.

Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin exchanged views on Ukrainian crisis and the way to overcome it. They touched upon the situation created after referendum in Crimea and noted another example of implementation of people’s right of self-determination through free expression of will. They underscored importance of following international norms and principles, first of all UN Charter.

The leaders discussed the process and ways of settlement of Karabakh conflict. Armenian president hailed Russia’s efforts as OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing state and underscored importance of joint efforts of the Co-Chairs aimed at peaceful settlement of the conflict. President Sargsyan reiterated Armenia’s readiness to continue joint work with OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to find settlement of the conflict.
