BEIRUT. – Unidentified gunmen in Lebanon recently kidnapped a Lebanese Armenian by the name of George Tamazian.
Aztag Armenian daily of Lebanon reported the aforesaid adding that the criminals had escaped in two cars. 

The kidnapping victim’s brother, Ara Tamazian, informed that the he received a message from the kidnappers, who asked for a $50,000 ransom.  

The Baalbek city residents staged a protest, and demanded that George Tamazian be freed.

At the request of the Greek Catholic Church Diocese of Baalbek, the residents closed the entrance to Tyre city, in the hopes that the kidnappers would return Tamazian.
