The Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia plans to question former President Mikheil Saakashvili, as a witness.

The attorney general’s office wants to question the ex-president in connection with several criminal cases, including the case into the death of former PM Zurab Zhvania.  

In a statement on Saturday, the Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia cited up to ten criminal cases about which Saakashvili needs to be questioned as a witness, the media report.

At the end of his tenure as the President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili left Georgia, in November of last year, and temporarily settled in the US, where he teaches at universities.
