Armenia’s Vayots Dzor Regional Governor Edgar Ghazaryan performing Eric Clapton’s “Tears In Heaven” was posted on the Internet, and it caused heated discussions ever since.

Ghazaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that he had performed this song at the Diplomats’ Club banquet in Jermuk city.

He added that he performs solely in a family environment and does attend random functions.

“I play at an amateur level for my family, relatives, and friends. I just love to play in my free time. My abilities in professional music are very modest,” the regional governor said.

Ghazaryan had graduated from the music school of Jermuk, but never thought of continuing his musical education.

The regional governor said he performs different genres of music, depending on the environment, he plays music at home the most, but he has not performed at feasts with officials.

He said he loves to perform songs from Armenian composer-performers, and the national anthem of Armenia.

Edgar Ghazaryan also noted that he is not thinking of giving concerts and releasing a CD at present, since he is busy, but he promised to think about it once he had the chance.
