GYUMRI. – Armenia’s City of Gyumri Mayor Samvel Balasanyan on Tuesday received representatives from the  European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The interlocutors discussed the priority domains for collaborative projects between Gyumri Municipality and the EBRD, Municipality press service informed. 

In this connection, Balasanyan pointed to road construction, outdoor lighting, and landscaping as the priority domains for collaboration.

In turn, the guests asked about the programs being carried out and funded in Gyumri by other banks and organizations.

The Gyumri mayor presented the estimates for the necessary investments in the abovementioned domains, and the EBRD specialists likewise will study these estimates.

As per Balasanyan, however, the projects do not interfere with one another.

He added that waste recycling likewise is a key pressing issue for Gyumri.  

At the end of the talk, the EBRD representatives emphasized their willingness to work in the domains of transport and road construction, which will include lighting.
