YEREVAN. – The adversary intensively violated the ceasefire on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border on Friday night.

It opened fire in the directions of Chinari, Aygepar, Movses, and Nerkin Karmraghbyur border villages of Armenia’s Tavush Region.

The Armenian defense minister’s press secretary Artsrun Hovhannisyan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He noted that the shots had started at 10pm and continued until 1am to 2am on Saturday.

“They fired shots with large-caliber guns, too; the Armenian side responded. Fortunately, there are no casualties or injured. But the adversary was not restrained until [retaliatory] fires were shot,” Hovhannisyan said.

He added, however, that the border villages had sustained material damage.

On Friday night, Azerbaijan had opened fire also toward some parts of Nagorno-Karabakh.
