YEREVAN. – After joining Customs Union, Armenia's trade regime with Turkey will be in compliance with Armenian practice and international norms.

“The matter is being discussed with the Armenian side. It will be solved according to Armenian practice and international norms,” Russian Macroeconomics Minister Tatyana Volovaya told reporters in Yerevan.

Turkey is beneficiary of trade Customs Union trade preferences, but at the same time is not accepting goods with Armenian certificates. Earlier Armenian Deputy Economy Minister Garegin Melkonyan said that Armenia is working to reach an agreement on non-use of Customs Union preferences, on its side, for Turkey.

Asked whether Customs Union member states have opposite preferences to Turkey and whether Armenia could export or transport goods via Turkey by transit, Valovaya explained that  preferences are of individual nature.

“These preferences may not be used for other formats. Armenia's joining Customs Union will hardly change anything. In case of Armenia and its relations, we will take into account economic demands of the country,” Valovaya resumed.
