YEREVAN. – The extent of damage from heavy snowfall and frost in Armenia is being clarified. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan visited Ararat Region on Tuesday accompanied by Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan and Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Haykaram Mkhitaryan.

Officials got familiarized with the situation caused by weather changes over recent days, as well as anti-hail events in the area. Deputy Prime Minister said that 18 anti-hail stations will be placed in the coming days.

“We are worried about loan liabilities of farmers. A similar problem occurred last year in communities of Armavir Region that were affected by hail. There we managed to find mutually acceptable solutions as much as possible. We will offer credit organizations to initiate a similar process now,” he added.
