YEREVAN. – Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s resignation was unexpected for Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party Chairman, ex-presidential candidate, and former FM Raffi Hovannisian.

Hovannisian himself told the abovementioned to reporters on Friday.

“The PM’s resignation was unexpected for me. [But] now, it is in fashion is to say it was expected,” Heritage’s leader specifically said.

In his words, the PM’s resignation brings hope for the possibility of making changes in the country.

“There are underground processes and cracks, and if the civil domain comes together, if everyone comes out of his office corner, we can have big changes in the country,” the ex-presidential candidate said.

He noted that they want for Armenia’s halls of power to change from top to bottom.

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan on Thursday offered his resignation to President Serzh Sargsyan, and the President approved the PM’s resignation.
