YEREVAN, – A meeting designed to assess “U.S.-Armenian Joint Action Plan on Combating Nuclear Smuggling” adopted in 2009 was held in Yerevan on April 3-4.

During a meeting with the participation of the representatives of two countries' agencies, the sides discussed further moves on strengthening cooperation to combat nuclear smuggling.

The sides exchanged information on modern threats and trends in nuclear smuggling and discussed instruments of detection and  investigation.

Summing up the meeting, Armenian side gave appraisal of U.S. assistance, attaching importance to continued cooperation. In turn the American side appreciated the work that has been done and progress that has been achieved. The sides outlined further moves.
