YEREVAN. – Hovik Abrahamyan’s mandate as National Assembly president will be suspended after president signs a relevant decree.

According to Armenian News-NEWS.am source, President Sargsyan said during ruling party's meeting that he would sign a decree later on Sunday.

The next session of the parliament will be chaired by Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov. The source says ruling party has not discussed candidacy for the post of a speaker.

National Assembly will elect the president during next four-day session.

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan handed over resignation on April 3. Hovik Abrahamyan was nominated as new prime minister on Sunday following the meetings in the office of ruling Republican Party of Armenia.
