YEREVAN. – The goal, which Armenia national football squad midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored, was a more noteworthy phenomenon than Hovik Abrahamyan’s appointment as Prime Minister.
Opposition National Self-Determination Union (NSU) Chairman, ex-presidential candidate Paruyr Hayrikyan noted the abovementioned at a press conference on Wednesday.
“I am surprised that you are speaking about this matter. There is a parliamentary majority in Armenia. The president designates whomever he wants. If he wants, he can play a game.
“So, there is nothing serious here; there can be a performance. What will change with Hovik Abrahamyan’s appointment? It’s the same [political] team,” Hayrikyan specifically said.
On April 13, President Serzh Sargsyan appointed now former National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan as Prime Minister of Armenia.
