The Union of Armenians of Ukraine held a special meeting in connection with the tragic death of Ruben Avanesyan.

A young man of Armenian origin was killed in the Ukrainian city of Slavyansk on Sunday.

Head of the Union Vilen Shatvoryan said the government must give an adequate response to each case regardless of political position of the killed man. They are first of all citizens of Ukraine, common people whose rights are protected by the Constitution, AnalitikaUA.net quotes Shatvoryan.

He informed about the letters sent by MPs to acting president Alexander Turchinov and prime minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk with a request to ensure appropriate response to the case. 

Earlier Shatvoryan urged the citizens of Ukraine not to yield to provocations and ignore illegal events.
