YEREVAN. – The Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party (RLP) left the Armenian coalition government because party chairman Arthur Baghdasaryan was not appointed Prime Minister, political scientist Yervand Bozoyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“In addition, he understands all too well that the term of the current authorities is coming to an end. The President likewise announced that he will no longer become president and PM. So, Arthur Baghdasaryan wanted to escape from the sinking ship, and create a new turf for himself and try to establish [himself].

“[But] today the four [non-ruling-coalition parliamentary factions (Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun, and Heritage)] is not ready to accept RLP to its ranks. [First,] it [RLP] should make an assessment on what it has done in these six years. Time has to pass, the psychological moments will pass, and then we can talk about it,” Bozoyan specifically added.

The RLP MPs on Wednesday announced that their party will be parting ways with the coalition government.
