YEREVAN. – The Republican Party of Armenia should assume full responsibility for the governance, since “there will no longer be a guilty child” on whom to put their own mistakes.

Sociologist Aharon Adibekyan stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Thursday, commenting on the Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party (RLP) leaving the coalition government.

As per Adibekyan, RLP’s leaving the coalition was due to party chairman Arthur Baghdasaryan’s not being appointed as the new PM. In this case, the sociologist is interested to know how the new PM, Hovik Abrahamyan, will act in this domain.

“A ruler, who is capable of having competent experts, will succeed. The same goes for Hovik Abrahamyan, too,” Adibekyan noted.

According to the sociologist, Abrahamyan has a good premise—the banking system, toward which there is a huge public confidence—to pull the country out of the economic crisis.

“If we consider that Hovik Abrahamyan would govern for ten years, if during that time he would be able to build factories where at least one- [or] two-thousand people would work, we can confidently say that he governed well,” he added.
To the reporters’ query on how Abrahamyan would be able to build factories, the sociologist responded: “If he gives state guarantees, big money will come to Armenia. I hope Hovik Abrahamyan will take more risks.”
