ALEPPO. – An Armenian by the name of Garo Avakian has been wounded as a result of shelling at the Armenian districts of Aleppo, Syria.

Avakian is 48 years old, the press service of the Diocese of Aleppo of the Armenian Apostolic Church informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Aleppo’s predominantly Armenian-populated Nor Kiugh and Sulaymaniyah districts, which actually have become uninhabited, are intensively being shelled since early Thursday morning. Several other districts are being attacked, too.    

Syrian Armenian Koko Ashnaklian, 19, had died Wednesday as a result of shelling in Aleppo.
