YEREVAN. – The document which the Russian State Duma adopted in 1995, and which is titled “Condemnation of the 1915-1922 Armenian Genocide,” is one of the first statements on the recognition of the crime that occurred at the turn of the last century.  

Russian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Volinkin told the aforesaid to reporters Thursday at the Armenian Genocide Memorial in capital city Yerevan, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed.

According to the Russian diplomat, the abovementioned statement noted that the brotherly Armenian people’s physical extermination aimed to create conditions for the subsequent destruction of Russia.
