YEREVAN. – The fact  that we are here means that we recognize Genocide, U.S. Congressman Ed Royce said while visiting Memorial to Armenian Genocide victims in Yerevan.

The fact was also recognized by President Ronald Reagan, he recalled, adding that in American textbooks the tragic events are mentioned with a quote of Hitler: “After all, who today remembers the genocide of the Armenians?”

Ed Royce told reporters that the congressional delegation is in Armenia not only to pay tribute to the Genocide victims but to establish deeper trade and investment ties.

“With the support of American Armenians we will do our best for Armenia to have more visible and significant place on the world map,” he said.
