YEREVAN. – The CSTO decision to stop the efforts to establish contacts with NATO does not change Armenia’s position.

Armenian defense minister’s press secretary Artsrun Hovhannisyan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am, commenting on CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha’s recent statement.

Bordyuzha had announced that, due to the present-day situation in Ukraine, the CSTO—in which Armenia likewise is a member—will stop its efforts to establish contacts with NATO. In his words, CSTO will instead develop cooperation with the countries in Asia and the Pacific region.

Armenia and NATO, on the other hand, develop bilateral relations within the framework of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP).

Armenia Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan confirmed, at his recent press conference, that Armenia-NATO relations are stable, and all obligations and agreements remain in effect.

“We will implement all planned measures until the end,” Ohanyan stated.
