KYIV. - Ukraine held commemorative events dedicated to the 99th anniversary of Armenian Genocide, Ukraine media reports.

The memorial services for the victims of the Armenian Genocide were held in all Armenian churches of Ukraine. In the regions there were organized events, lectures, and exhibitions dedicated to the Genocide of Armenian people of 1915. In Zaporizhia the khachqar (cross-stone) consecration ceremony was held, AnalitikaUA.net informs.

Numerous events took place in the capital city Kyiv. The event in the chapel, which is located on the site where the Armenian church will be built soon, was attended by Armenia’s Ambassador to Ukraine Andranik Manukyan, head of the Armenians’ Union of Ukraine Vilaine Shatvoryan, the president of the Kyiv International University Khachatur Khachaturyan, representatives of the Armenian community of Kyiv, members of the Armenian Embassy in Ukraine, prominent representatives of the Armenian Diaspora of Ukraine, public and politicians figures and average Kyiv citizens.
