Local elections were conducted Sunday in 59 communities in Armenia.

As a result, incumbent Mayor, ruling Republican Party (RPA) member Vardan Hovhannisyan was reelected in the City of Jermuk.

Also in the Vayots Dzor Region, local government elections were held in the border village of Khachik, where Vardan Nersisyan came out the winner.

A woman candidate, current village prefect Taguhi Boyakhchyan, won the voting in Tsapatagh community in the Gegharkunik Region.

Mayoral elections were held in the City of Goris, too, where RPA member Vachagan Adunts prevailed.
