YEREVAN. – The national football squads of Armenia and Ukraine will participate in the next World Cup and they may even face each other in the final, Ukrainian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Kukhta told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The diplomat, however, regrets that Armenia and Ukraine are not in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil because, in the long run, they deserve playing in the World Cup.

“Moreover, one of Armenia squad’s leaders, [Borussia Dortmund (Germany) midfielder] Henrikh Mkhitaryan, was virtually raised at [FC] Shakhtar Donetsk [Ukraine].

“As for this tournament, I like Germany most of all; I think they are one of the favorites of the 2014 World Cup,” Kukhta noted.

The Ukrainian ambassador added that his favorite player is Argentina international and FC Barcelona (Spain) striker Lionel Messi.
