Azerbaijan Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov has attempted to openly win official Moscow over.  

“Of course, the Nagorno Karabakh conflict has been discussed at the meeting of Azerbaijani and Russian Foreign Ministers in Baku,” Azimov stated, reported the APA news agency of Azerbaijan.  

“Russia had beforehand position in this issue. Russia had also relevant negative contribution in the initial development stages of the beginning of this conflict,” the Azerbaijan deputy FM added.

According to him, thereafter, Russia reconsidered its position on this matter by taking steps as a Co-Chair of OSCE Minsk Group and participating in the discussions, and achieved formation of a position.

“As I understand, Russia’s main interest in this issue should be related to Azerbaijan. Because Azerbaijan is a country having the largest territory, human resources and stable, reliable and capable government.

“Azerbaijan can be good partner for Russia. I think, Russia’s interest should see Azerbaijan as a developed, stable, reliable strategic neighbor. Russia can achieve a lot of things by settling the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, helping Azerbaijan,” Araz Azimov stressed.
