The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) capital city Stepanakert Airport is in operation. The relevant footage is already on the web, and Azerbaijan has raised a wave of hysteria in this connection.  

At the request of Armenian News-NEWS.am, Dmitry Atbashyan,  the Head of the NKR Civil Aviation Department, commented on the aforesaid footage and said that the flight, which was shot on video, is not at all the first flight.   

“Flights are conducted [from Stepanakert Airport] now, as well,” Atbashyan noted.  

But these are not a regular passenger flights.

“One of our aircrafts is in the footage. The flight was related to aviation and chemical works,” he stated. 

Dmitry Atbashyan added that private tourism and sport flights are conducted, too.
