YEREVAN. – Activists carrying out a protest action against increase in electricity prices, put into practice previously voiced threats and blocked traffic on Saryan street, the Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent reported. 

Police officers periodically make attempts to push the protesters from the roadway that result in skirmishes.

Simultaneously, the deputy chief of the Yerevan Police Valeri Osipyan instructed the officers not to detain anyone unlike during the previous action. He said the police are doing everything possible to avoid clashes, but some activists organize provocations on purpose.

Politicians from opposition parties Levon Zurabyan, Zaryuhi Postanjyan, Artsvik Minasyan, Stepan Safarian and Armen Martirosyan have joined the action.
